About us
We are a truly interdisciplinary and international ERC-funded research group, part of the Division of Micro- and Nanosystems at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), as well as the Institute of Microtechnology and the Center of Pharmaceutical Engineering at TU Braunschweig (Germany).
Our goal is solving life science challenges using microsystems tools – from organs-on-chips to labs-on-chips. An area of particular interest is neuropsychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia. With induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cells, we seek to understand multicellular interactions such as metabolic coupling in the neurovascular unit, and how dysfunction is related with the these disorders. With engineered microfluidic platforms, we provide the cells with relevant biophysical and biochemical environments. With sensor development, we monitor biomarkers from cellular function to point-of-care diagnostic applications.
