New paper published in ACS Sensors

The article “A Comparative Evaluation of Microimpedance Tomography Reconstruction Algorithms for in Vitro Imaging” was published in ACS Sensors today.

Electrical impedance tomography is a promising approach to biological monitoring. We present innovations in its microsystems integration, as well as in image reconstruction using an open-sourced 1D-CNN framework, rigorously benchmarked against two more commonly-utilized algorithms. We demonstrate that the 1D-CNN provides significant improvements in reconstruction accuracy, and demonstrate system functionality by monitoring zebrafish development from embryo to larvae.
